The hiring market has changed radically

The problem intensifies at the technical screening stage. Tools positioned as "completely undetectable" to the interviewer are actively being promoted on the market. The scheme is simple: AI listens to the interviewer's question in real time and instantly transmits the ready answer — to a second monitor, into a smart headset, or through an earpiece. The candidate repeats — and makes an impression of a senior developer.

Why this doesn't work for long

An experienced technical interviewer notices patterns of AI cheating faster than one might think. Syntactically flawless formulations are the first signal. They are followed by characteristic pauses before the "ready" answer, a vacant stare at the monitor instead of live eye contact, and complete confusion at any non-standard clarifying question. The article's author lists markers he notices in real interviews:

• Perfect syntax with inability to explain the essence in simple words
• Absence of concrete examples from personal experience
• A pause at the most inopportune moment — before the "obvious" answer
• Template formulations, reproduced exactly from time to time
• Complete disorientation at any deviation from the standard question

"You can tell when a support service answer is from a robot versus a live operator, can't you?" — the author writes.

An AI cheat sheet can give a beautiful template answer. But it cannot flexibly respond to non-standard questions posed by a live interviewer — that's where the weak point is.

An interviewer's prompter: an asymmetric response

This very principle — "a template has no answer to an unexpected question" — formed the basis of the tool from Reksoft. The company developed an AI prompter for a technical interviewer. The tool works in the background: it transcribes the candidate's answers in real time, analyzes their content and depth, and then suggests specific follow-up questions. The goal is to uncover an empty facade behind beautiful words without turning the interview into a detective investigation.

According to the authors' design, the prompter doesn't replace the interviewer — it enhances them. The tool suggests question options, but the choice remains with the specialist. The logic is elegant: don't try to catch the cheater red-handed (technically difficult), but create conditions where the deception simply doesn't work.

What this means

The AI arms race has reached the hiring market — and this is just the beginning. Companies are adapting the format of technical interviews: strengthening practical tasks, introducing tools for interviewers, changing screening scenarios. Relying on a template cheat sheet is becoming increasingly difficult — especially when the other side of the desk also runs on neural networks.
